The evil and sin in the world have placed a great gulf between God and man. It is for this reason that many do not perceive God. We can be so blinded by sin that we see nothing but what we want to.
' My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord." And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.'
One need only look to our TV sets, internet or newspapers to witness the sin of mankind. We are driven by self-interest, lust and envy and so the world is full of exploitation, conflict and sorrow.
Some ask, why does God not do anything about it ? but one day He will judge the world.
'And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened....And they were judged, each one according to his works.
Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire'.
In our own lives, if we are honest with ourselves, we don't even live up to our own expectations of right and wrong.
Many carry the burden's that sin brings to our lives, burdens that we often hide, and that even sometimes those closest to us, rarely know that we carry.
But God has opened a way for us to have our sins cleansed. No matter how lost we feel, God loves us, and desperately wants to restore our relationship with Him.
'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light'.
