Hope of Eternity

Possibly the greatest miracle that the Lord Jesus performed was resurrection from the dead. He himself returned from the dead. Just like us , no one, including his followers believed it, but no one could deny that He had returned. Hundreds saw Him. And despite the news spreading across the region, neither Jewish nor Roman historians record any denial that it happened. This is remarkable given that these events happened in the midst of two of the most literary, educated cultures of in the world at that time.

God tells us that we too, all of us, will be raised from the dead. The Bible offers no scientific explanation for this. Just as we don't really know what life is or how it came to be, so too it is explained that God can make us live for ever.

'Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality...... then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?'

For those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their saviour, there is the hope of an eternity in a new creation in direct relationship with God, just as He had originally intended.

' Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!'.
